From quick reviews to side-by-side support
Whether you need a quick check-in to ensure an IEP is on track, or you are looking for a deep investigation with ongoing support, I can help. I will tailor my services to your unique needs and budget.
What to expect
When you first reach out, we’ll schedule a free 30-minute meeting. During this time, I’ll listen to hear more about your child’s situation, discuss what my advocacy services look like, and determine if we’re a good match given your needs and my expertise.
If we decide to work together, we’ll get started right away in achieving your child’s education goals.
Educational advocacy services
Educational Records Review
I will review all relevant paperwork (IEP’s, 504 Plans, neuropsychological evaluations, academic evaluations, report cards, MCAS reports, and more) to identify gaps or opportunities for improved services.
Explaining Your Child’s Rights
I will look for any procedural or substantive violations to ensure your child has been provided with a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). In addition, I will point you to relevant IDEA and ADA law so you have a full understanding of your child’s rights.
Addressing IEP Compliance
If procedural or substantive violations have occurred, I will work to address them. This might involve setting up a meeting on your behalf, advising on testing and IEP goals, initiating a dispute resolution process, and more.
Advocating for Better Services
Not only do I want to ensure the school is adhering to the law, but I also want to hear your parental concerns and look for opportunities to enhance your child’s educational experience. I will review IEP details line-by-line and make smart recommendations.
Dispute Resolution
Sometimes parents have to initiate a dispute. If this happens, I can help you organize your documentation, write letters to begin the process, file an OCR or State Complaint, request an IEP facilitator or mediator through the BSEA, and even connect you with an attorney if your case goes to Due Process.
Empowering Parents
You and your child deserve to feel empowered. Remember, this is your child’s academic experience. When we work together, you’ll have the tools, knowledge, and support to feel confident and make impactful changes. I will help guide you, but you will always have the final say.
