Your child deserves to be successful in school.
But the school system can be difficult to navigate.
If you’re navigating your child’s Special Education services and feel overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Obtaining an appropriate IEP or 504 Plan, and understanding the laws and regulations involved, can be complicated. Often parents don’t know the extent of their child’s rights and get lost in the system. This results in missed opportunities.
Fortunately, support is here. As a highly trained Educational Advocate, I can walk you through the Special Education process and help your child get the services they need. I’ll go above and beyond to ensure your child receives an outstanding education and be there to support and guide you every step of the way.
I’m here for you.
Whether you’re just beginning your journey with Special Education services, or you’re a seasoned Special Education parent, I can support you. I will help you learn how the school system works by sharing my knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations, and I will go to bat for your child—fighting to make sure they receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
I’m on your team. You can trust me to:
-
Navigate the school system
For many parents, the school system and its Special Education programs can be confusing. I am well-versed in education laws, regulations, and processes, and I can help you understand your child’s rights. Once you’re informed, I can advocate for and ensure your child receives the right services, accommodations, and modifications - so nothing is missed.
-
Manage the details
There are so many aspects of Special Education – you may be overwhelmed by all the meetings, paperwork, timelines, data, and unfamiliar jargon used by the school district. I will help you manage the details. I will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and support you through every step of the process.
-
Address any disputes
Unfortunately, there are times when disputes between the school district and families cannot be settled internally. I will help you navigate the dispute resolution process, whether you need a Facilitated IEP, Mediation, an OCR or State Complaint, or are heading to Due Process. I will explain your options and help you choose which one is the best fit for your unique situation.
What to expect
We will start by setting up a free initial meeting. During this meeting, I will listen as you tell me about your situation and give feedback as to how I can help. I will also answer any questions that you have about the advocacy process.
If my services are a good fit for your family, our next step will be a comprehensive review of your child’s educational history, IEP’s/504 Plans, and any relevant evaluations. I will provide you with a written summary of my findings and together we will formulate a plan to address any concerns that arise. Along the way, I’ll make the process clear—and give you the peace of mind you deserve.
